At the event, Alex Skouras explained that sustainability does not only mean green buildings or certifications, but an integrated approach focused on people and communities.
“We need to educate end users and show them how sustainability can be integrated into their lifestyle, for themselves and for their children. Mixed-use projects that include schools, parks, offices, supermarkets, running and cycling tracks encourage a better lifestyle and reduce dependence on cars.”
Alex Skouras emphasized that sustainable development requires cooperation between authorities and developers, with open communication and fast decision-making in order to find efficient solutions together.
