Bucharest, May 23rd, 2025 – Amber Forest welcomed His Excellency Mr. Giles Matthew Portman, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Romania, and Mr. Colin Lovering, Chairman of the British–Romanian Chamber of Commerce, for an official visit to the Amber Verita Campus construction site. The distinguished guests were joined by Leonidas Anastasopoulos, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Alesonor, and Richard Joannides, Founder of Verita International School & Kindergarten.

The visit highlighted the significance of Amber Verita Campus as Romania’s first nearly Zero-Energy Building (nZEB) school and a beacon of sustainable education. With a planned investment of approximately 18 million euros, the campus will offer state-of-the-art educational facilities for students aged 2.5 to 18 years, including a school, kindergarten, afterschool, and advanced sports infrastructure. The Amber Verita Campus will serve as Verita International School’s second operational campus, complementing its existing location in Aviatiei.

Amber Verita Campus is part of Amber Forest, Romania’s first complete suburb designed around the “15-minute city” concept. This innovative community offers residents access to a wide range of amenities, including educational, sports, commercial, leisure, and medical facilities. The project is the first in Europe to achieve Platinum certification under LEED v4.1 for Communities: Plan and Design rating system, emphasizing sustainability and quality of life.

H.E. Mr. Giles Matthew Portman toured the campus with evident enthusiasm, taking time to explore its sustainable features and community-oriented design. The visit underscored the UK’s support for innovative, forward-thinking projects and highlighted the shared values of sustainability, education, and quality of life.

Mr. Colin Lovering, Chairman of the British–Romanian Chamber of Commerce, expressed his enthusiasm: “In a world where uncertainty prevails, I can only congratulate this marvelous initiative that, with the Verita trademark approach to education, will enable it’s students to grow academically but with the heart, soul and empathy that is so vital for the confidence and adaptability of young people in today’s unstoppable digitally dominated world.

The Amber Verita Campus, set to open in September 2026, will feature a green design that allocates only 20% of its 15,000 m² footprint to buildings, leaving expansive green areas for sports and recreational activities. As part of the Amber Forest suburb – the first LEED Platinum-certified community in Europe under the v4.1 for Communities: Plan and Design rating system – the campus reinforces Alesonor’s dedication to sustainable development. Enrollment for the Amber Verita Campus is now open, with places allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Leonidas Anastasopoulos, Managing Partner of Alesonor, stated: “We are proud to welcome the British Ambassador and BRCC Chairman to Amber Verita Campus, a project that aligns with our mission to create sustainable, educational, and community-focused environments.
Richard Joannides, Founder of Verita International School, added: “We are committed to nurturing the future generations of students who will thrive in an environment designed for their well-being and personal growth.

Amber Forest is a groundbreaking sustainable development that includes 690 nZEB smart villas and apartments, a 5.3-hectare park, sports club, educational services, a commercial area with cafes, restaurants, and a co-working hub. The suburb has already welcomed over 200 families and aims to become a model for eco-friendly living in Romania.

The visit concluded with a guided tour of the Amber Verita Campus site, where the guests explored the sustainable design and educational vision of the project. The Amber Forest community continues to set new standards for sustainable living and education in Romania.
