“We believe that people benefit greatly when they choose to live in a sustainable community and we feel we have contributed to achieving this in Amber Forest, both at the master plan level and in detailed design. Our approach to this project focused on sustainability, not only in terms of resources and consumption but also socially and culturally, including all aspects that contribute to residents’ well-being: development density, access to outdoor spaces, safety, privacy and community connectivity. The spaces we move through and share—streets, gardens, bicycle lanes—shape how we relate to our neighbors. They have the potential to enhance or test these relationships. For all homes, large or small, we committed to providing comfortable and healthy indoor and outdoor spaces, following design practices that consider climate, lighting, noise pollution, ventilation and air quality.”
