Alesonor, a developer with over 23 years of experience in creating sustainable communities in Romania, and Fan Basketball Academy have announced a new partnership to develop and operate the sports facilities within Amber Forest Agora, the educational, sports, retail, and medical hub of the fully integrated Amber Forest suburb.
Construction is already underway on a modern nZEB-compliant sports facility covering approximately 1,000 sqm, along with outdoor sports amenities including an approximately 800 sqm football field and a basketball court. The indoor sports hall will feature a multifunctional basketball court, locker rooms, and showers, and is designed to accommodate training sessions, competitions, and sports activities for children and young people. The total investment amounts to approximately EUR 2 million.
The sports facilities are scheduled to open in the autumn of 2026. The sports hall will be operated by Fan Basketball Academy, which will expand its activities through the establishment of its new Training and Performance Center, a project dedicated to developing athletes aspiring to reach the highest levels of performance. Through an integrated program combining sports training, athletic education, and personal development, the new center aims to become a benchmark for youth basketball in the Bucharest–Ilfov region while providing children and young people with access to state-of-the-art training conditions.
The facilities will serve both the school located within Amber Forest and will also be available for rent by Amber Forest residents and the wider community in northern Bucharest.
This investment complements Amber Forest’s existing active lifestyle infrastructure, which already includes running and cycling trails, green spaces, and recreational areas. In 2027, the development is also scheduled to open a 12,000 sqm sports and leisure club, featuring tennis and padel courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a fitness center, and wellness facilities. Together, these investments will establish Amber Forest Agora as a destination for sports, health, and leisure, serving both community residents and the wider public across northern Bucharest.

Founded in 2013 by former professional basketball player Vlad Jișcanu and Andreea Jișcanu, Fan Basketball Academy has become one of the leading youth basketball development organizations in the Bucharest–Ilfov region. Over the past 13 years, the academy has trained more than 3,000 children and young athletes, many of whom have continued into professional sports or secured scholarships and development opportunities at prestigious academies and educational institutions abroad.
Amber Forest Agora will serve as the central hub of the Amber Forest community, bringing together educational, sports, retail, and medical facilities, as well as an open-air cinema, office hub, and more than 500 visitor parking spaces. The entire concept is built around the idea of a sustainable community where all essential amenities are accessible within a 15-minute walk. Once completed, the facilities will serve approximately 600,000 people living within a 20-minute catchment area, significantly expanding access to modern services throughout northern Bucharest.
Amber Forest is the first residential development in Europe to receive LEED Platinum v4.1 certification for Communities: Plan and Design. Developed across 31 hectares, the project features only 15% built footprint, with more than 5.3 hectares dedicated to parks and green spaces. Amber Forest offers a wide range of residential options, including more than 20 villa types, ranging from three to seven bedrooms, and over 14 apartment layouts designed to accommodate diverse lifestyles and family needs. Prices for currently available three-bedroom green villas start from €366,000 + VAT, while two-bedroom green apartments start from €162,000 + VAT.
To date, more than 300 homes have been delivered, with 600 units sold out of a total of 690 residences.
